Documentaries, Instructional How-To's, Veterinary and Husbandry Subjects, Movies, Television Series, Past Events, Historical Clips, anything and everything (including Live Streaming Events when available) -- growing larger with new content every month . . . The Archive is in the beginning stages of development, and there is much to do. Please bare with us as we continue the extensive work required in digitizing and preparing the old films and videos for uploading and viewing. Many of the programs are not high quality video due to the program sources, but are definitely viewable.

Breeds
From primitive Equus to the seemingly endless list of current breeds, horses have evolved with much diversity. To love horses is to be captivated by their different shapes, sizes, types and talents. The Archive will provide at least a small peek to as many of them as possible, from the popular Appaloosa and Quarter Horse, to the beautiful and multi-talented Arabian, the mythical Friesian, the exotic Akhal Teke and many, many more. There will be profiles on individual breeding operations on farms and ranches throughout North America, as well as comprehensive and entertaining documentaries on a diverse selection of different breeds throughout the world. As with humans, learning what's different about horses will lead you to understand and appreciate what is common between them.
Western - All Disciplines
There is a secret longing in parts of America shared by others throughout the world for a return to the time when the western frontier and its components of cattle, horses and cowboys were something special. Trustworthy, chivalrous, hard-working and loyal, cowboys have been role models for thousands of children, and the catalyst for today's western lifestyle. Immortalized on the screen by the likes of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Randolph Scott and others, the real cowboys and cowgirls are still out there – cutting cattle on a ranch, training horses or wowing the crowds at a rodeo. Here you'll find all kinds of western entertainment, competitions, educational programs on training horses for a variety of stock work and much more . . . including a few surprises along the trail.
Health & Veterinary Medicine
Everything having to do with veterinary medicine or related subjects can be found here. Programs covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and husbandry -- as well as documentaries, instructional programs, breeding and much more -- will be highlighted on VetBarnTV. Both traditional and alternative veterinary medicine is represented. A growing video glossary of veterinary terms and medical conditions will be an ongoing part of the programming, and viewers, doctors of veterinary medicine and veterinary schools are invited to submit videos to build the archive.
Movies & Television
While many of the horse world's most cherished feature films, movies and television series are copyrighted and therefore not available to the Archive (although we're working on a solution), there are many wonderful old films and Saturday morning serials which can be found here, as well as the productions of numerous horse-friendly producers who are happy to make their programs available to us. Where applicable, the Archive will make available the commercial "trailers" of many of the "horse movies" beloved by all, and will provide links to where the visitor can buy a DVD copy or a service that provides the films via download which can be paid for online.
Racing
The thrill of horse racing for many people is confined to watching those three magical races each Spring that make up the coveted Triple Crown for Thoroughbreds. But what leads up to all that excitement? How do you train and condition such a young horse to be such a determined competitor? What's the day to day life of that jockey in the Winner's Circle? And was that jockey a woman? Racehorses are not just ridden but also driven -- Harness Racing has two Triple Crowns of its own. And who hasn't heard of the All American Futurity for Quarter Horses or the Grand National Steeplechase over fences in England? English - All Disciplines
Whether it's a local horse trial at the training level or an international, 4 **** CCI competition, EVENTING is a popular, adrenaline-pumping equestrian sport with enthusiasts of all ages and from all walks of life. Hunt or forward seat riding and showing is very popular in North America, but not an equestrian Olympic discipline, as is Show Jumping. HUNTERS are judged on conformation and performance standards both on the flat and over fences, while SHOW JUMPING – is all about getting that clear round and sometimes in the shortest time. Here you will find the world of DRESSAGE, featuring great trainers, competitions at local, regional, national and international levels and best of all, providing a showcase for this beloved equestrian discipline.

Trail & Pleasure riding
Planning a vacation or an escape from it all? Enjoy a leisurely jaunt in a nearby state park? A vacation on horseback just about anywhere in the world sounds like a pretty good idea! Glimpse some of the many great places to visit – whether on your own horse or on one provided by hundreds of equestrian-oriented vacation facilities. Throw in horse camping information from experts -- and even find out if gaited horses or mules are more fun to ride while trail riding. Tuscany and wine vineyards? Fall foliage tours in Canada? Some terrific western guest ranches? There are very few places left in the world where you can't find a great riding holiday – and, there are some wonderful state and national parks that offer camping facilities for horses right here in North America.

All kinds of trainers and clinicians – presenting everything from trailer loading to halter breaking and much more. Find and explore information from a growing number of skilled and professional horsemen and women., comparing techniques and knowledge for training as well as assisting riders in improving their relationship with their own horse. Partnerships between a horse and its rider, whether it's riding down the trail or in tough competition, is very important. Whether called training or breaking or starting or any other number of terms, the bottom line is that someone has to teach the horse to know what different aids mean and what desired response is required.
